Raptors visit Bobcats in key Eastern Conference matchup

Basketball Betting Lines

03/29/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - A pair of teams scuffling for the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference meet in Charlotte Monday as the Bobcats host the Toronto Raptors.

The Bobcats have taken advantage of a soft spot in their schedule to creep closer to the first playoff berth in franchise history. Charlotte sandwiched a pair of wins over woeful Washington by dumping hapless Minnesota and are now the seventh seed in the East, three games ahead of Toronto and 3 1/2 games clear of ninth-place Chicago with just 10 games to play.

Most recently the Bobcats topped the Wizards for the second time in four days on Friday when Gerald Wallace scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the third quarter to push Charlotte past Washington, 107-96.

Stephen Jackson added 20 points, 11 in the opening quarter, and Raymond Felton finished with 19 and 11 assists as the Bobcats won their third straight game.

"I wasn't crazy about it. We turned the ball over too much," said Bobcats coach Larry Brown. "But we did a lot of good things. I thought Larry Hughes looked more comfortable. I thought Raymond had a great game. It's fortunate that we had some really good defensive possessions."

Things have been going as well for the Raptors, who lost their third straight game in Miami on Sunday when Dwyane Wade ended with 32 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals, as the Heat upended Toronto, 97-94, to take their fifth straight victory.

Chris Bosh had 19 points to pace the Raptors, who are just 4-10 in March and are now in serious danger of falling out of the postseason party. Jarrett Jack had 18 points, while Andrea Bargnani scored 17 in the loss.

"We moved the ball," Bosh said. "We just were not aggressive. Guys did not step into their shots ready to make plays."

Toronto snapped a three-game skid to Charlotte with a 107-103 win north of the border on Dec. 30.
