Phillies put Bastardo on DL, recall MathiesonBaseball Betting Lines06/17/2010 - Bronx, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Philadelphia Phillies have placed pitcher Antonio Bastardo on the disabled list with left elbow ulnar neuritis. Bastardo, 24, has posted a 5.11 earned-run average in 16 appearances for the Phillies this season. To fill the roster spot, the Phillies recalled right-hander Scott Mathieson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 26-year-old pitched for the Phillies in 2006, when he went 1-4 with a 7.47 ERA in nine games (eight starts). Mathieson struggled with injury, requiring two Tommy John surgeries, but has made his way back to the majors after working through the minors. In 25 games with Lehigh Valley this year, he recorded a 2.43 ERA and 12 saves, with 34 strikeouts and 12 walks in 29 2/3 innings.
