Alfredsson's late tallies help Senators extend record win streak

Jason Spezza also tallied two goals for the Senators, who continue to extend a franchise record for consecutive victories after setting the mark with their ninth in a row on Saturday.

Brian Elliott stopped 34 shots for his 18th win of the season.

Andrej Sekera and Tim Connolly provided the offense for the Sabres, who have dropped six of eight. Ryan Miller made 34 saves in the setback.

Ottawa moved ahead with one minute left in regulation, when a slap pass from Erik Karlsson at the right point found Alfredsson, who settled the puck with his skate and slid it past Miller at the left post.

Alfredsson then capped the triumph on an empty-net tally with 23 seconds to play.

Spezza broke the scoreless tie on a high wrister from the right circle with 6:22 left in the second period.

Spezza gave the Sens a two-goal edge just prior to the six-minute mark of the third period, but the Sabres struck for two quick scores as Sekera tallied at 7:17 followed by Connolly 27 seconds later.
